Job Description
ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:
Teach For Viet Nam (TFV) is a young and dynamic organization with the vision that all children in Vietnam will attain an excellent education. We aim to achieve our vision by running a two-year leadership program that recruits and develops young leaders from diverse backgrounds (called “fellows”) who will work in and help build a sustainable ecosystem supporting education equality and excellence. During the two years, fellows teach in high-need schools and work with underprivileged students and communities. They will be equipped with deep local understanding, skills, and expertise to make a positive impact on students, local teachers, parents, and the community at the grassroots level. They will also develop transferable skills and gain unique experiences that will set them up to be a part of our growing network of Alumni who are working together to transform education for all children after they complete the two-year leadership program. Teach For Vietnam is in its 7th year of operation and currently has 20 Fellows in Quang Nam province. We aim to have 100 fellows and expand into three regions from now till 2025.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Program team is responsible for the training and support of Teach For Viet Nam Fellows both before, i.e. preservice training, and during their Fellowship in order to ensure Fellows’ growth and impact as leaders both in the classroom (as measured by student achievement) and beyond. Program Managers play a central role in our work, as they are directly in charge of delivering support for Fellows in terms of operation at school and leadership. They serve as leadership coaches for a group of 10-15 Fellows in a specific location, regularly monitoring both community practice and leadership growth through observation-and-coaching cycles, regular check- ins, learning circles and reflection. Program Managers are responsible to train and coach fellows on personal and leadership development. They work with the Curriculum Leader and other teams to ensure fellows deliver the required student and community outcomes. As the first and primary point-of-contact between Fellows and the organization, they are also responsible for cultivating strong and productive relationships and a positive team culture.
