Job Description

* Definition of the job:
Prototype engineers are pioneers in designing equipment/tool concepts using 3D design software for the prototype team to create prototype samples.

The Prototype Engineer manages one of the most important roles within PREMO. The samples support the development of new products and are used to win design-ins at our customers. You will work in close cooperation with R&D, project managers, and production engineers to deliver the samples according to the required specifications.

Position responsibilities:

• Work closely with the project team to understand the concept of new products and design tools/equipment for the prototype team.
• Collaborate with the prototype team to ensure tools/equipment function properly and respond quickly in case of malfunctions to minimize downtime and speed up sample production.
• Conduct early identification of potential bottlenecks/risks in new designs and suggest solutions to address them.
• Contribute to the improvement of product and process quality at an early stage.
• Participate early in the development project as a contributor to product concept choices. Provide input on the process feasibility of the concepts for production, contribute to the design FMEA, and evaluate development samples produced in Vietnam.
• Support and advise on solutions to problems that arise in new product and process development.
• Perform market research/analysis to identify new technology and equipment.
• Review SIR, SIR 3RD, and SWI after completing the sample to evaluate the production process and the qualification of the samples in the sample line.
• Detect and resolve problems promptly or implement improvements for the next batch.
• Select and advise on test and measurement equipment to test the concept.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the R&D Manager.

Requirement(s)

* Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical-Electronics, Mechatronics, or related fields.
* Experience: Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of experience.
* Competencies:

• Process Knowledge: Winding, soldering, assembling, testing, automation, etc.
• Process Automation
• Plastic Materials Knowledge: Injection, overmolding, etc.
• Metal Parts Knowledge: Sheet metal, die-casting, etc.
• LPM & HPM Experience/Knowledge: Low/High Pressure Molding
• Creativity and Innovation, Design-thinking (User-centric), Analytical/Logical Thinking, Self-Learning
