Job Description

- Interpret plans, engineering drawings, and specifications to efficiently produce accurate estimates.
- Obtain quotes and cost estimates from suppliers and subcontractors that align with specified materials and  labor within the project scope.
- Prepare and review fixed-price quotes for clients, ensuring clarity, precision, and adherence to project requirements.
- Generate a comprehensive material list and layout to facilitate accurate customer ordering and procurement.
- Maintain organized Bills of Quantities (BOQs) customer folders to ensure efficient retrieval of materials.
- Prepare and document variations as needed, ensuring all changes are accurately reflected in project  estimates and scope of works.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall project  management.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with all stakeholders to ensure alignment, transparency, and timely  decision-making.
- Collaborate with project managers and teams to provide insights on cost implications for design changes  and project decisions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and best practices to ensure competitive and accurate estimating.
- Perform additional ad-hoc tasks as needed.

Requirement(s)

- Minimum of 3 years estimating experience in Australian residential and medium-density projects.
- Ideally, a demonstrated proficiency and comprehensive understanding of such software as Bluebeam, Qubit, BuildXact, etc.
- Ability to interpret plans, tenders, and specifications.
- Knowledge of different building materials, construction methods, and techniques.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of Australian residential construction.
- Strong time management, planning, and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills in English would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to devise and implement process improvements.
- Strong attention to detail with a desire to excel.
